Can You Clarify For Me?
Hair styling, clean hair brush, hair shampoo, wet hair
Shampoo is a cleansing agent consisting of liquid soap or detergents
that is massaged for washing the hair and scalp. Shampoo produces suds
or soapy water with froth on the surface. Shampoo removes dirt, excess
oil and dead skin cells. But, be careful, too much use may do harm as
well. Natural oil of the hair penetrating down the strands will keep the
hair healthy. That should not be disturbed.
Fundamentally Shampoo is meant to remove excess oils and the build up
of everyday wastes left over from hair care products. Choosing the proper
shampoo is based on your type of hair.
You would have noticed that sometimes your hair becomes untidy, weak,
dull, heavy or greasy. You find it difficult to comb. The cause is the
accumulation of impurities due to hairsprays, mousses, and gels etc. The
hard water and chlorine from swimming pools, the usage of shampoos containing
waxes and moisturizers are also the causes of this problem. Further, as
reflection of light is prevented by the accumulation of dust, the hair
appears dull and dusty. A small amount of shampoo will do for the purpose.
A ‘clarifying shampoo’ can refresh the hair and restore the shine. It
is devised to clean the hair by removing foreign matter buildup in the
hair shafts. Constant use of a clarifying shampoo will prevent the buildup
and make the hair clean.
Acetic acid, known for its de-scaling abilities is a constituent in clarifying
shampoo. We all know that vinegar removes scales in kitchen items like
vessels, coffee pots, tea kettles and so on. In the same way, it restricts
build up of foreign matters on the hair.
Clarifying shampoo has little conditioning abilities. While it removes
scales and dirt, it can harm the hair by drying if over-used. It should
be born in mind that the label of the container lists the ingredients
in a particular order. That is the largest in quantity tops the list.
Any shampoo that contains acetic acid will do the job of a clarifying
shampoo. For oily hair use shampoo once a week and for dry hair once in
two to three weeks. .
Those who often visit the swimming pool must use a shampoo that is capable
of removing chlorine, which can dry the hair and even change the color
of the hair. Clarifying shampoo with a conditioner will keep the hair
soft.
Usage of lot of hair products and taking bath in hard water may necessitate
clarifying once or twice per week. It all depends. On the average it may
be twice a month
Method of clarifying: Take a small quantity of clarifying shampoo and
massage your scalp for about 60 seconds. Lather may be proportional to
the build up and oils on your hair. Rinse well.
Next, take a small amount of shampoo and apply on the head. You can see
lot of froth. Wait for sometime. The unwanted stuffs will give way. Rinse
thoroughly. Repeat the steps if necessary.
Clarifying shampoo does not have moisturizers. So use your regular conditioner
with moisturizer. You may have to use a bit more.
Frequent use of clarifying shampoo on colored hair will result in hair
color to fade. So, clarify colored hair only once a month or so. Avoid
clarifying your hair soon after a fresh color. Wait for at least three
weeks.
